2013-09 Engine work
One item that had been nagging me for a bit, but stayed on the backburner was some engine work. Since I have a used engine with about 1400 hrs, you can say it doesn’t look exactly new anymore. The engine … Continue reading

2013-09 Overhead Channel Modification
while we are modifying, I came across Andy Millin’s tidbit about blocking one side of the AFT overhead channel, so water cannot puddle there, or else install a second drainpoint. I thought the idea was outstanding, and so I poured … Continue reading

2013-09 Vent Modification
For while I have been thinking about how to modify the overhead vents so the flow would be improved. Now, the back side of the vents are so high that air will not enter it easily, but more surround it … Continue reading

2013-09 Spar to Firewall (cont.)
I looked at the pour I did yesterday and added some micro to one side, just to make a nice round edge before I put one BID over the complete area. According to the manual, the whole area had to … Continue reading

2013-09 Overhead Channel
I cut some holes into the overhead channel for the AFT seat Vents and lights. While sitting on the bench seat, I had figured out already where the lights should be to shine down onto a passengers lap without being … Continue reading

2013-09 Bid placed outer RH Upper Strake to Spar
After sanding a lot of the micro away, I decided to lay down 2 BID in the RH upper strake to spar area in the outer wing area. Together with my special tool, the PVC pipe I was able to … Continue reading

2013-09 Strake to Spar Micro
Today I poured Micro in both the LH and RH upper Strake to Spar areas. Again, I poured a lot, maybe too much, but it makes for a nice transition from the spar to the inner wing surface. I … Continue reading

2013-09 Fuel pump holder assy
I cut the fuel pump holder so it looks nicer now and has no sharp edges anymore. Later on, when I find the right place to attach it, I will adjust it once more and round out the edges.
